Hi! Welcome to my page!
Here's my history to date, November 22, 2000.
Astrologically speaking, I was born on the cusp of Gemini/Cancer in the year of the Monkey. If you're familiar with any of that, I'll let you come to your own conclusions. In plain language, I was born on June 21, 1968 in Portsmouth, Virginia.
In December of 1976, the year of our great country's bicentennial, the family moved to the Philippines. We stayed with in Makati, Metro-Manila. While there, I met my cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and even my great-grandmother. I attended school there for 2 1/2 years and was able to acquire enough of the language.
By July, 1979, my brother and sisters and I grew restless and begged to return to "the States". Of course I was surprised when we settled in California. I thought we would be going back to Virginia. But what does a boy of 11 really know?
We landed and lived in the heart of Los Angeles. My parents were able purchased a house in El Monte, 15 miles east, a year later. We settled at "the end of the Santa Fe Trail". I began the 7th grade at Durfee School.
Sadly, 1 1/2 years after we purchased the home, while in the 8th grade, my father passed away. We all muddled through this life changing event, but have survived quite strongly.
I went on to be quite successful in high school, ahem, I mean ARROYO HIGH SCHOOL. "Go Knights!" I graduated 3rd in my class, was a 2 year member of the elite order of the "White Knight", was President of the A Capella Choir, Chamber Choir, Math Club, and CSF (California Scholastic Federation). I was also very fortunate to have been able to play the roll of Che in Andrew Lloyd Weber's Evita. We were the first HS to do a full production of the musical--only one year after the performance rights were released.
From then I pursued higher education at the University of California, Irvine. I started of as a Math major, but soon changed my major to Psychology. Although I truly considered it, I was unable to justify obtaining a degree in music at that time. I was active in the housing units of MESA COURT, as a activities programmer my sophomore year, and a Resident Advisor my junior year.
I was able to graduate with a decent Grade Point Average in June 1990 with Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. I took the Graduate Record Exams in hopes of applying to grad school, but that is still an area to be explored.
I began working in the Financial Services department at UCI before I even graduated. Soon after graduation, (August 20, 1990)I met Guy. We've been together now for 10 years (WOW), but that's a whole different "Oprah". I left my job in 1996 to pursue a supervisory position at the University of Southern California in 1996. I worked there for 4 1/2 years when I was asked to return to UCI for the Management position at my old job.
And here I am today!!! I hope you enjoyed this litte synopsis of my life to date. I'll be adding more about myself at the others in my family soon.
For your enjoyment, here are few places I like to go to on the net.
