Thinking Hard  and Working Smart
My career  field is Information Systems specializing in programming.  Programming is  also known as computer programmer. The job consists of testing, writing, and  maintaining detailed programs for companies all over the world. Computer  programmers are needed for the handling of programs that are detrimental to  companies. Programmers in 2002, most of them that received a job, have a  bachelor's degree. Computer programmers tells the computer what functions  the computer must complete or what functions it wants the programs to do ("Computer Programmer"). I have realized that programming is not an easy  job. It will take a great deal of concentration, trial and error in order to  successfully produce an efficient program.
Computer  programmers must stay a breast of the new languages that will be beneficial when  writing programs. Computer programming has several different  categories. Maintenance is one of the categories that when challenged with  it, programmers must first figure out what the problem is then tries to  troubleshoot it."Programmers are broken down into to broad groups called  applications programmers and systems programmers ("Computer Programmer").
The degree of  education needs to be at least an associate to compete with the working  environment in Information Systems or a related field. I found that most  companies will substitute experience or on the job training instead of  degrees. Most companies want you to have a host of knowledge about the  programming programs. Even after receiving a job in computer programming,  it is important to stay up to date on the new programming software or new  development programs that are coming out.
The computer  programming field has slowed down because of two things. One reason why the  field has slowed down is the saturation of computer programmers and the other  reason is computers software is becoming more advance with programming software  all ready loaded on the system.
The pay for computer programmers is competitive with the job market. It is  the supply and demand that dictates the salary of a programmer. The pay for  computer programmers is some where between $35,000.00 and $96,000.00 dollars a  year.  ("Computer Programmer").   Education and experience will dictate where  the starting salary will start after receiving a job in the programming field.  The type of job that is applied for will also dictate the pay for that  particular job.  Some jobs in computer programming are more stressful and  more demanding, so the salary has to fit the position.
Computer programming may seem to be a difficult job, but with a good education and  positive thinking, you will become the very best programmer that a company could  ever hire.  It will require a lot of hard work, but in the end it will pay  off.
