367. Alvin ( Alfred) L Deloe

Alfred was born in Venango Co., Pa. From W. Va. he went to Little Hocking, Ohio, where he operated a filling station and grocery store. He then went west to Oklahoma and Texas for a period of time to try to regain the health of his third son Tom who died from T.B. While in Texas, Alfred served as Grand Noble of the I.O.O.F. Alfred's wife was named Mary Henderson.
Was living in Decatur township, Washington county, Ohio in 1920.


368. George Peter Deloe

George like most of his brothers and sisters, was born in Venango Co., Pa. He was 5' 10" tall, had reddish-brown hair, a stalky build and was considered very strong. In his early life (1889) he ran a saw mill with his brother Vernon and his father in Tyler Co., W. Va. He proceeded to operate saw mills in Wood and Harrison Counties of W. Va. In later years, he was a blacksmith and even a Methodist Minister. He married Ida Bell Wright who gave him seven children. He is buried in Parkersburg. W. Va.


688. Vernon (Herbert) Deloe

died in the Spanish Flu Epidemic.

370. Cyrus Vernon Deloe

Cyrus was a resident of Alma, W. Va. He was a saw mill operator as well as an oil well buff and worked in the oil fields for an extensive period of time. Vernon married Martha Jane Kendall and raised a family of 12. He was 6' tall and had the reddish brown hair that was characteristic of his forebearers.


704. Marjene Ellen Deloe

Maymie Ellen Pratt, 60, Rt. 18 North, West Union Doddridge County, died 2:10 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 1984 at her residence following a 5 year illness.
She was born April 25, 1924 at Alma, Tyler Co., a daughter of the late Cyrus V. and Martha Jane (Kendall) DeLoe. She married Dale Pratt, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons; Benny Dale Wharton, Tyler City and Forest Gene Powell, Wilbur; four sisters, Lynna Bowen, Horner, Lena Weekly, West Union, Mabel Spencer, Fairmont, and Ruth Reger, Clarksburg; 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Four sisters and 3 brothers preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Sunrise Baptist Church at West Union and a former machine operator for West Union Garment Co., The Pennsboro Mfg. Co., and Economy Industries at Harrisville.
Services 2 p.m. Monday, July 30 at Spurgeon Funeral Home in West Union with Rev. Russell Crawford officiating. Burial was in the West Union Masonic Memorial Park.


375. Ida L Delo

Twin. Married Mr. Logue, and resided in Pittsburgh.


376. Orrin Winfield Deloe

Oren married Arminta C. Master (January 22, 1864 - March 25, 1956), the second child of Charles Master (1831 - 1909), a descendent in the Schwenkfelder families of Germany. Oren was employed in the oil fields of Ohio residing in Wood Co. When he died, both B. Ferne, and Robert S. were left in their mother's care.


378. Edgar Burdett Delo

Edgar was born in Clarion Co. He married Florence Hopkins Morin (January 2, 1875 - March 28, 1953) on September 5, 1894 at Bowling Green, Ohio. He remained in Ohio for a period of time (with his brother Oren?) then moved to Oklahoma, where he died in Sepulpa. Edgar had two daughters.


381. Edith Gertrude Delo

Edith, of Lamartine, Pa., married Charles Erwin Knappenberger (August 19, 1873 - August 13, 1948) in Monroe, Pa., on July 7, 1904. Charles was in the oil business in Pennsylvania; later ran a grocery store in Sepulpa, Oklahoma. Both he and Edith died in that state.


719. Dorthy Lavina Knappenberger

Never married and was a school teacher in Tulsa.


396. George Emmet Delo

George was named for his uncle. He was born in Elkhart, where he was a resident as of 1908.

407. David Harrington Deloe

David was also born in Wheeling, W. Va. and was an eventual resident of Washington, D.C. He was a foreman for the General Film Co., accountant with the Famous Players-Lasky Co. in D.C., a bookkeeper for the Washington Times, and finally credit manager for the Times Herald. His wife's name was Mary. They were married just after the turn of the 20th century and had at least two sons.


409. Jessie Tenley Deloe

Jessie Tenley Deloe (1878 - May 11, 1955) Jessie was born in Washington, D.C. He was a printer like his father with the US Government Printing Office. He later worked for the Washington Post for more than 40 years. He had one son and two daughters by his wife Bessie Irene Bradburn (July 18, 1884 - February 24, 1972) from Washington, D.C.


731. Ronald Deloe

Ronald was born in Euclid, Ohio in 1925 and became a printer like his father.
