Delmont Library is A United Way Agency. You may designate the library to receive your annual donation by using our United Way designation number: 1603
Borrowers
Any resident of Westmoreland County is eligible for a library card. Access Pennsylvania library cards holders may borrow books after registering with this library. Children, kindergarten through Grade Six, need their parent's signature to acquire a library card.  Books may be borrowed for a 2 week period and may be renewed by phone. Videos may be borrowed for 1 week.
The Collection
The aim of the collection is to serve the cultural, recreational and educational needs of the area. Current best sellers, large print, audio books, a computer for the public to use and reference materials are available. The Librarian on duty will be happy to help you locate any title you may need or want.

Digital Collection

Our library patrons can also download digital media in the form of audio books, music and video from the District Digital Collection (Powered by OverDrive.com).  It's free and all you need is your library card number!  Take a look at the Quick Start Guide or view the Guided Tour.

Regulations
Books on reserve cannot be renewed. For each day the library is open overdue fines are charged at the rate of $0.15/day for Delmont materials. Inter-library loan materials are $0.25/day. There is a charge of $0.25/sheet for printing computer materials. When an item is two weeks overdue the borrower will be notified by phone. No borrower may take out additional materials while owing money to the library. The borrower assumes responsibility for the return of all materials in good condition. If a book is lost or damaged, the current cost of replacing the book is charged. Only two (2) renewals of any material are allowed.
Programs
Summer Reading Book Clubs for all ages are held during the months of June, July, and August to encourage reading during the summer months. State tax forms and Federal tax forms are available throughout the whole year.
Memorials
You may donate money for the purchase of books honoring persons living or deceased. Appropriate designations will be placed in the book(s).
Donations
Donations of new fiction, audio books, music CD's or other needed materials are gratefully accepted. Please contact the librarian for assistance.

Delmont Library has an active chapter of Friends of the Library whose mission statement is: The Friends of the Delmont Public Library are volunteers united to promote the use of the library, support life-long readers, expand the scope of library programs, and provide assistance where needed. Call or visit the Library for more information.
FOL sponsored Groups: Chess Club, Writer's Club, Adult Reading Clubs
Volunteers
Volunteers man the charge desk Monday through Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please call the Library for more information. Training is provided and each volunteer works with a partner one evening a month.
Clubs
Children's Chess Club starts in January-Writer's Club and Adult Reading Clubs meet throughout the year. Call the Library to join in!
Children's Summer Reading Clubs begin June and run until August. Sign up at the library for Tuesday Programs and Thursday Storytime and crafts.

Delmont Public Library
The Delmont Public Library is located on the ground floor of the Delmont Borough Building.
New Space
The library has moved into it's new space in the lower level of the Delmont Borough Building.  The library celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2004, and we encourage you to come see our new space.  The library has doubled in size!  We are equipped with two computers for public use.  Each computer has Internet capabilities.  Use of the computers is free to anyone with a Delmont Library Patron card.  The Delmont Library Board is actively seeking donations from the community.  If you would like to make a donation, write a check to: Delmont Public Library and drop it off at the library located at 77 Greensburg Street, Delmont, PA 15626.
