next day's entry
Hi! Not too much to say here. Well, everytime I say that, I end up writing a book. Last night I went with my host family to the movies. They had a babysitter for the baby and we went to see Vanilla Sky. The movie theater was really, really nice. It was next to the grocery store that is also really nice, the one that I mentioned earlier. As far as Vanilla Sky is concerned, it is a very, very interesting and strange movie. I don t know what everybody else was thinking, but I was thinking that it was going to be some kind of a romantic comedy type thing. No. Not at all. It started out that way and went way, way off the wall. I ended up liking it, though, although there were times that I didnt know what to think while the movie was going on.
When we went to pick up the baby afterwards, we went to this really nice neighborhood, where the lady who was watching him lives. It was beautiful! The houses were so nice. Also, the view from this area is amazing. It is on top of one of the mountains, and you could see the entire valley of Cuernavaca and all of the lights. The city is huge, so you just see this enormous valley filled with lights. It is amazing. This view is not just from this neighborhood, either. When I was lost on the bus and in a kind of poor, outskirted area, it was also on top of a mountain and I could see the city and lights again. I love it. I hope that I can somehow take a picture that will show how beautiful it really is.
Well, now that Ive been positive, its time to complain a bit. I got a phone card and called Charles. That is the last time I am doing this. Those cards are ridiculously expensive. Like, a dollar a minute! This made me so mad because I paid 100 pesos, which is a little under $10 USD, and I got 10 minutes. Charles has still been trying to call me with a cell phone. I told him that that was ridiculous and that he would have to go get the phone card, and that I cannot call anymore with the phone cards here. This makes me very angry because I know that there has to be a better deal. Thats crazy, 100 pesos for 10 minutes. Its so frustrating.I might search around for a cheaper card because I still need to make occasional calls home. For example, nobody recorded Survivor for me last night because I wasnt able to get into contat with anyone. I was angry. Not too angry, though, because I read the story of who won online. Still, though, I wanted to see it. I will shop around for a cheaper card, but not too many people around here call the US frequently.
I have one more class today at 4. It is my literature class. I had a class this morning at 10 and it was Phonetics and Phonics. It is going to be one of
those classes. You know what I mean. It is one of those classes with complicated technical terms and such that go all over your head, and to top it off, its all in Spanish. I dont think it will be difficult, but it is 3 hours long and I know that Im going to be staring off into space for the majority of the class. Actually, I cant really do that because there are only three of us in the class.
Okay. Enough of that. Overall, things are pretty good. I need to call home, though, because I have to get some credit card stuff straight, etc. My bills are going to be sent home while I am away, and just wait till my parents see that....
            Bye!
