previous day's entry

Hehe. Wasnt really planning on writing anymore until Monday, but a lot of things have changed since I wrote yesterday.
I had my Phonetics and Phonology test today. I think I passed. Maybe. Funny, I never say things like that. Its just that sometimes in this class, the teacher may as well be speaking Chinese. And its not because of the Spanish, either. I understand her Spanish really well. Its just all the technical terms and whatnots that I wouldnt understand even if it was in English. I wish I could remember the first question- actually, next entry, or when I get the test back, Im going to post one of the questions so you can see how off the wall and complex they are.
Anyway, the week is ending pretty good, considering that this has NOT been one of my best weeks. For various reasons, but I have just been really down this week. I went to the doctor and he gave me medicine for an infection that I had, so that was probably part of what was making me feel bad.
Hey, I had a high point today! This evening in the house, I asked my house mother if she wanted to hear a song that I had on CD. It was off of my Spanish Radio Hits 1999 CD, and I wanted to see if she recognized the song. Well, we ended up listening through the entire CD, and the cool thing was that I recognized and understood so many more words and frases than the last time that I listened to the CD, about 2 months ago! It was so cool! It was like, things that before I had no clue as far as translating is concerned, seemed obviously clear! That was one of the coolest feelings I have had, because a lot of times, you feel like youre not improving, just because there are so many lowpoints and mistakes made. Just thought Id share, because that really made me feel good.
As far as my plans for this weekend, Im not going to the Six Flags Mexico. Basically, what has happened is that two additional people are coming on the trip, and they feel like $21 is too expensive and theyd rather go look at museums instead. This is fine, but you know what? It really annoys me when people who werent originally going on a trip, or who were invited AFTER the plans were made, step in and decide to change what is going on. I told them that I was not going to be able to go, mainly because I didnt want to pay money for a hotel for three nights just to look at things that I didnt really want to look at. The good news is, though, that we are planning on still going to Six Flags, me and another group of people, like in a few weeks. I really want to go during February, though, because my birthday is in February and you get half off during the month of your birthday.
I am actually kind of happy that Im not going to Mex City because this weekend is a holiday and there are several local festivals going on in the small country towns nearby. Our teacher from my Mexican Culture class was telling us about them. I am planning on attending some of those with my friends Kahuna and Serita. The good thing is that they are cheap, an hour away (so I get to see some pretty countryside without being on the bus for too long), and there is going to be lots of food (fried fish from the lake, to be particular). This is exciting because I had not eaten much this week because I had been feeling so bad. I cant beleive it but I didnt eat anything yesterday and nothing today until 4 p.m. I couldnt beleive I had gone that long. But, I just wasnt hungry.
Anyhow, all of thats gone now, so Im just looking forward to having a good time and eating lots of fried fish tomorrow!
