Tne Lymond Chronicles
Thus far, I'm in the middle of The Disorderly Knights and I can't even begin to describe how much I'm anticipating the last three. Lymond is quite the enigma, eh? I've basically made some fan-art for a series that very much deserves it!

The Female Leads I Love:

Phillippa Somerville - I know I haven't even gotten into the good stuff yet, but I already love Phillipa's bravery, stubbornness, awkwardness and all-around humanity. She's gifted with a good head but hasn't yet  acquired her mother's tack and humility. I loved when she crushed Lymond's brooch in The Game of Kings. I loved it when she told anyone who would listen that SHE would've shot Lymond. I loved it when she refuses to leave the Nixon castle. I loved it when she rides to Scotland to warn Lymond. And when she ends up winning 3 pairs of boots and a saddle by playing dice. She is a wonderful, flawed, plain, yet exciting character. I adore her, and see myself reflected in her actions and image. I can only pray for the best in her case. It goes without saying that she is probably one of my favorite characters of all time, and that I'm deeply invested in her future. IT BEST BE ENDING WELL, DOROTHY, OR I'M GOING TO FIND YOU IN HEAVEN AND MAKE YOU RE-WRITE YOUR BOOK, DAMMIT.

Oonagh
O'Dwyer - I admire her in every way. She's a strong, noble woman. I can't identify with her as readily as Phillipa, but I do feel emotionally invested in her character. I respect her power and independence.

Kate Somerville
- You know, I think Dunnett wants her auidience to like Kate the best, but sadly enough, I can't enjoy her nearly as much as Phillippa. Perhaps because I see Kate as competition for Lymond's affections. (I won't call it love, since apparently he has none.) Kate is an enjoyable character--and love her mothering ways.

Marthe- It's too early for me to tell, as I just got into PF. I can recognize her strength, but I am not so happy with her treatment of Pippa. A bit cold, if you ask me. Or course, I'm being over-protective here...

Females I LOATHE:

Jol
eta Malett - She's a brat. A crazy brat. But you know, I've changed my feelings for her a bit. Now I feel a great deal of pity for her. I don't know if she acted on her own accord, or if Gabriel's influence was too much for her to bear. I don't know what made her the way she is...
