| Primary light source |
| The primary light source should be helmet-mounted to leave your hands free. |
| Extra light source |
| You need at least two independent light sources that can be used to exit the cave. Candles, matches, and a lighter doesn't count for backup lights. Also carry extra bulbs for all of your lights and spare batteries-again twice the amount you think you'll need. |
| Other Items |
| 1. A swiss army knife or a leatherman to make repairs. |
| 2. a small pocket-sized first aid kit. |
| 3. A watch |
| 4. Possibly some food according to the lenght of the trip |
