-TOO LONG

The clear water of the pool called [screamed] her name. The brochure said "Olympic Sized", but reality said not even half that. She sat off to the side on a faded blue carpet and stared into the seemingly endless hole.

Her body yearned for it.

Her body needed it.

Deciding to be valiant for a change of pace, she crawled over to the side and stretched her leg out over the edge of solid ground. It hung there, no supports but the muscles of her calf. Her leg slowly bent at the hinge and soon she felt the cool seventy-eight degree water on her big toe.

The glass doors to the secluded "Olympic Sized" opened and she did not move. Her eyes involuntarily moved to the side to watch the figure out of their corners. On one side, the only thing she could see was her nose. On the other, the only person she trusted to be in the same room as her and the water.

"Going for a dip," he stated more than asked as he sat down on the same worn down fuzz as she.

She shook her head. "No, Justin."

"Why not?"

She thought for a second and then pulled her toe out of the water, tucking her leg under her. "Bad for the skin, ya know."

LISTEN to it NOW.
