Hiya everyone!! Now to fill up space I'm going to tell you ALL (meaning all that I can think of at 2 in the morning) of the problems Lina Inverse faces in her life.

Let's start with her day to day life. Lina Inverse obviously has an eating disorder, she engulfs huge amounts of food and never gains an ounce. What could we assume from this other than Lina Inverse is Bulimic, Bulimia Nervosa the rejection of food.

Now I can hear you say, "Rejection of food, you're nuts!!!" Well let me say Lina Inverse shows tell tale signs. First off, she's very self conscious of her figure (small breast jokes you know) which is very common among Bulimic girls.

Okay, so you say, "Well, it's understandable I'd be self conscious if I had a chest that flat." As soon as we scrape you body off the ground with a spatula after Lina dragon slaves you I'll explain what other symptoms she has.

Lina has severe agression when around food, and will break out into argument over the simple issue of food in the first place. Of the countless examples one in paticular pops into mind. In Slayers Next #42 I believe, Lina, Amelia and Gourry are fighting over one last meatball. Over such a paltry amount of food Lina forces such effort as to break the table for the tini morsel. Would any clear headed individual do this? No, of course not, but in the emotional rage caused by food Lina doesn't think (even after the fact) anything of it. This shows a great amount of emotional play.

To add to my case Lina Inverse has, to my knowledge, never EVER payed for her own food, but manipulates and threatens others for her meals. Oddly enough this is also a very common sign among people with bulimia.

So you say that these are random signs? With 3 solidly proven statements to say Lina Inverse is bulimic and no counter agrument? I think the case stands that Lina Inverse is bulimic, but why hit such small stones? The bulimia is only a sign of the real problem at hand. Let's look for other symptoms!

Now to address the problem of anger management, or lack there of. To say it in plain English, Lina has a temper problem. If you really need an example (which I doubt you do, but I'll say one anyway). In Slayers Next #40 when Lina was singing karioki with Amelia and that monster (you know that stupid floating head one) called her an idiot, Lina lost her temper. Now usually that's tolerable behavior, but casting the dragon slave, maiming several people, and destroying an ancient ruin is not. Not only are her violent outbreaks directed towards large amounts of people, she attacks her friends and even her lover, Gourry, as well. This more than proves my point.

Perhaps the most interesting thought of all is Lina's fear of her sister, Luna. Lina doesn't so much as flinch at dark lords, other mazoku, gold dragons and even Shabranigdo, but even the mention of Luna causes Lina to go into an almost paralizing panick attack; screening herself from all contact from the outside world. What would cause such devastating fear? Obviously Luna Inverse, the Knight of Seifeid, is powerful, but to cause such fear at the sole utterance of her name? There must be something deeper. My suspision is sibling abuse. Of course common and harmless among most siblings this process is only natural, but the vast amount of power the two sisters, mainly Luna, wield would cause such outbreaks to become deadly wars. So to say it in plain fasion, Lina didn't have a prayer; which brings me to my main point.

Lina's family is the source of all her emotional problems and this is how. I find it a common occurence that no matter how determined parents are to treat there children equally they often don't; they even be completely unaware that they are doing so, but that inequalety always exists. We can assume Luna was the favored sister by the mass of information about emotional problems that Lina has relating to neglect, to expound. Lina's bulimia as in most cases is an attempt to find exceptance outside the home with peers; since we assume Lina left her home at the age of 9 we can also assume that this is an ongoing problem that rather than an act for attention, has turned into a compulsive disorder. We also see from Lina's violent behavior, and lack of self control more signs of neglect. Lina's parents neglected her, thus not teaching her proper restraint and problem solving skills. Third most, is the fear of Luna; Lina's sister probably beat on Lina for the exstent of her family life without any negative reinforcement from the parents, hense learning that beating on Lina was acceptable behavior. This could also explain why we have never heard Lina mention her parents.

Finally after the abuse became too much; Lina fled and found Naga in a desperate state of depression, and in need of a friend. That's how Lina's campaign really began. So all those adventures to destroy monsters, killing bandits and grabbing loot is to get the attention deprived from her as a child.
