Deadwod Forest As I walk through Deadwod Forest, watching ravens over head, gazing at the plants that grow, seeing beads on spiders' thread.
I took the turn to thicker trees, and away from where the trail lead. I caught a sound from behind, that turned blood white from red.
Then I spun for eyes to see, among the trees and clouded skies. A wolf, black of darkest pitch, that gazed with amber eyes.
In the quickness of my breath, at those eyes did I stare, but when I closed my eyes, I saw the wolf wasn't there. |
