A Personal Letter

- Rough Draft due Friday, January 24
- Final copy due Monday, January 27
- Length: Two sides, double-spaced, handwritten OR one side, double-spaced, typed, 12-point font.
- Must be in paragraph form, separated by topics.
- Should have a conversational, casual voice (Not formal!)
- Must consist of questions for the person being written to as well as information about yourself.
- Must be either:
  A letter to someone you
   know, or
  A letter to a well-known
    person you admire.
-Must provide a stamped and addressed envelope with the final copy; if you write to a celebrity, you will need to find an address you can use.  You can probably find an address on-line on a celebrity address web site.  If they are represented by a major company, you can send the letter to the company's address.  (If you want to write to author Stephen King but can't find an address for him personally, you might send it to his publisher; if you want to write to your favorite TV star but cannot find an address, you can send the letter to the network that airs the TV show.)
- Must turn in rough draft with the final copy.
- Write about real, specific things, but keep in mind that I will be reading your letters; keep them appropriate for school!

Extra Credit:
For extra credit you may do one or both of the following:
- Include something else in the envelope besides the letter (a picture, etc.)
-Read your letter to the class.
Where do you want to go?
