| Requirements: - Due Monday, February 24th - 3-4 minutes - Outline (2 copies) - Visual Aid - At least 2 sources cited ("According to...") For this speech your purpose will be to inform your audience of something. Consider your own hobbies and interestes as a starting point for choosing a topic. Once you have selected a topic that you feel comfortable explaining in the form of a speech, begin to outline the major points of it. You will need a visual aid which you will need to refer to during your speech. Be sure that it is big enough for all of the class to see it and that you don't turn your back to your audience when referring to it. You will also need to cite at least two sources in your speech. These sources should be recognized authorities on your topic and can come from anywhere (web sites, magazines, newspapers, books, interviews, etc.) Begin your citation during your speech by saying "According to..." Remember to keep your topic narrow and specific! Don't try to cover too much material in your speech or you'll find yourself going over the time limit! |
