I'm sure you all have suffered through this excruciating ordeal, trying to catch up on news articles, just to find that half of them are "Make money fast" bullshits and greedy whores trying to advertise their 900 numbers. It is bad enough that you sometimes come across threads that seem to go on forever. At least these are discussions that deal with the subject of the news group, even though you may not be interested in that particular topic. Just the sight of these idiots who waste bandwidth by crossposting to all groups they can access make me sick. I'm not one for flaming someone but in this case I'd be willing to make an exception. Flame them, flood their mail boxes with junk, crash their system and get them off the net.
Well, so far I haven't resorted to these drastic measures though I have sent them mail telling them to stay off the news group. Needless to say these replies were also copied to root and postmaster at their site. It's the least I can do to keep my blood pressure down and hopefully get these spammers into trouble. As a system admin I'd kick them off the system quicker than they can say "I". Maybe we all could start to moderate groups as well. This would instantly eliminate post by these morons. The drawback would be the turnaround time when posting to a group but I'd be willing to accept that if I don't have to see those spams anymore.
Unfortunately these spams are not limited to news groups. Once in a while some idiot sends one to me via e-mail and this really ticks me off.
Oh well, just getting pissed off at these spammer more and more with each passing day.
