SOLACE

by tINA jONES

Seeking solace in depression has become a habit.

Where do you run for safety
when you think of darkness as a friend?

Do the eyes deceive,
A web of kindness weave,
Only to dissolve your thoughts
in a puddle?

Upon looking in the mirror,
Are you proud of what you see?
Is child-like fascination there,
Or bitterness that devoured glee?
