We all know these people, disciples of mindcontrol, followers of the high priest, dark crusaders on a quest to convert everyone to their religious believes. No matter where we go, we cannot escape these people, missionaries, trying to shove their theological believes down our throats. Fortunately so far I have only had the displeasure to encounter those blindly following the christian believes once. Maybe other religions do not see the need to impose their views on other in a rather obtrusive way. Anyway, this one encounter with these gnomes did nothing to provide credibility to their cause. On the contrary, their abysmal attempt to convert me just reinforced my believe that religion is a hoax.
I'm sure by now some are curious to know what happened. Well, a number of years ago when I was in Japan, these two guys came up to me. Not knowing that the tentacles of brainwashing were trying to ensnare me, we struck up a conversation, chatting about various things when one of them asked the fateful question. "Do you believe in god?" In my subtle and unobtrusive way I said "No." This of course did not surprise these guys so next they wanted to know why. To make things simple, my reply was that all I see is talk about this supernatural being but have not been presented with conclusive evidence of its existence, such as a physical manifestation. They immediately proceeded to , or should I say tried to exploit my argument of not seeing. I was asked, whether I have been to such and such. Well, yes. How about that place? Yup, been there, too. Needless to say they were trying to find a place I haven't been to and given sufficient time, they did. Needless to say, by that time I was feeling nothing but contempt for these guys insulting my intelligence. And that is what they do, insult your intelligence by looking down on you and trying to portrait themselves as better people.
