Buy this, get that, ...

It is amazing how we are bombarded with all the advertising, telling us to buy their product because it's better that theirs. On top of this, they often tell you that if get their, you get such and such for free, for example x minutes of free long distance calls if you sign up with them. Obviously these companies are hoping that we are all stupid imbeciles, unable to think. Ok, some people are and fall for their tricks. These people do not read the fine print. "You get x minutes for free but you have to use them between x and y o'clock , while a full moon is not. At the same time, crickets need to performing Ravel's Bolero inside a giant toad, while being digested." It's just mind boggling how they try to sucker us. Oh, my favorite line, "Void where prohibited." Of course they don't tell you where it is prohibited.

Besides advertising, you have these people calling you at home, soliciting their fine product or service. Some of these sales representatives are so stupid, I'm amazed they manage to utter a coherent sentence. I just got this call where they offered me a free cellular phone if I sign up with their service. Well, I already have a cellular phone and the service that goes with it. Oh, just in case you were wondering, I told this the rep. Anyway, she then came back with the highly intelligent and well thought out reply "But you get a free cellular phone." I don't know about you but when someone tells me that they already have a cell phone, chances are they won't need a second one. Apparently, this is a concept foreign to that sales rep. Needless to say, I said "What do I need two cell phones for?" and hung up.

Then you have these pushy sales representative. You tell them you are not interested but they will not let go, they keep on pushing. It's like an unsightly growth on your nose that will not go away and bugs you and bugs you. I just know, one of these days I'm going to snap and yell at them, cuss at them, and generally be an asshole, not that I am overly nice to them now. I can just see it happening where they call and keep on pushing and I just go "I SAID NO YOU STUPID SHIT!" I wish someone invents a phone that will filter out these calls or forwards them to a recording "This person is not interested in your stupid product."
