| Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights - the classic Gothic novel. People either love it or hate it. I love it. And I love Heathcliff. Not Catherine (whiny b***h), not Cathy (spoiled brat), not Edgar (weak and whiny), not Linton (sickly, whiny and weak), not Hindley (drunken waste) and not even Hareton - to he isn't as bad as the rest. But Heathcliff is rugged, intelligent, dark, moody and...and...famed for loving as violently as he hates. He gets revenge. He destroys people - a family - his love and himself...but he still dies "happy". Talk about a total anti-hero... |
