Jelly the Hahn's Macaw:
Jelly is a 4 year old male Hahn's Macaw.  I've had him for 3 years and the lady I got him from had hand-fed him.  He is a very vocal bird with always something to say (in other words, he is NEVER quiet).
Fun things Jelly does:
He laughs a very evil laugh with a just a hint of sarcasm, he'll nip you (not bite) and say "OUCH, I bite!"
Coke is his FAVORITE and any can opened is fair territory.  He can make the sound of the can opening.  His sleeping "bird condo" is a 24 pack Coke box.
He can swing around your finger with great ease.
He'll snuggle up under your hair and whisper very softly "whatchya doin?"
He lives in a sun room and every time a cat is in his view he'll scream "KIT CAT" "KIT CAT".  Squirrels qualify as well.
More about Jelly:
Since I have had him he has prospered and been properly socialized.  He rides in the car great,  is great around my cats & dogs and travels very easily.  He adapts well to new situations.
Likes: sweets, sitting in the sun, coke, my dog Tiki, playing "i'm a big bird" and flapping his wings at you, baths on your shoulder in the shower, hempseed, riding in the car, attention.
Dislikes: people with glasses or hats or towels on their head or lots of make-up or.. you get the point, cats in his yard, kids, having dirty water (even one seed qualifies as "dirty" and he'll let you know when that happens), silence.
Why Jelly needs a new loving home:
I worry as she becomes more mobile that the inevitable will happen.  Jelly is known to bite - HARD.  He can break the skin on a grown man's hand, imagine a little 6 month old.  I can't risk it.  He does have his "own room" but now I can't bring him out with the family so he is always in his room.  That's not fair to him as he just wants to be part of what's going on, hence HE SCREAMS - ALOT.  I know that in the right situation he could be an AWESOME bird, as he was before the baby.  I imagine he is jealous of the time I spend with the baby and that is why he is trying to attack her.
I will give Jelly away for FREE to the right home.

-

Please do your research before contacting me.
The decision to give Jelly up is not something that I have decided with ease.  He has been part of our family of 3 years and he is EXTREMELY close to me.  I recently had a new baby girl and he has twice flew off his perch to try and "get" her.
We smoke outside but again because he is in a sun room, he'll see us and before you even light the cigarette he will cough.
Anytime you clean his cage, feed him or give him fresh water he'll mutter "much better".  It's totally cute.
He loves and kisses his toys in the most endearing way.  Snuggling up to them and "smacking".  Again, way too cute.
Vocabulary: hi, hello, wassup, whatchya doin, good bird, pretty bird, bad bird, wanna booger, what's going on, where we going, kit cat, much better, ouch, i bite, hmmm.. interesting, cheeseburger, wanna cheeseburger, up, come here, multiple different kissy noises, whistles, coughs, sneezes, laughs many different kinds, you're an asshole, f*ck you are also in his vocabulary but they aren't very clear, he also says:  yee-haw, whoo-hoo, uh uh and uhuh.
