The next thing Orlando knew was being rushed to the hospital with broken ribs. The monotone vicinity brought back memories of his father on a dying bed; of himself walking out with a spine barely fixed. He dreamt of his father's face, and the murmurs in his last breath. He could almost feel his family's presence when he was lying, feebly, on the surgical bed. When he opened his eyes and saw his cast-mates, his family in New Zealand, around him, Orlando knew he would get it over, again. |
