| Let's start with a simple statement; Vampire is a less than perfect role playing system. It has lots and lots of problems. My own game is not set in White Wolf's World of Darkness. It is subtly different from the World of Darkness. I have changed a few of the clans (actually all except the big 7), totally revamped the Sabbat (in a sect of absolute loyalty and secrecy, how does the Camarilla know every damned detail?!), and completely altered the other supernaturals. On the other hand, I have also added some new disciplines, merits 'n flaws and even some bloodlines. Unlike most other web based rpg stuff, these are not totally unbalancing to gameplay. All and all, I really enjoy the basic World of Darkness rules, it's the carry out I find appalling. If all sorts of ghastly Wyrm creatures are running about destroying reality and polluting the world, how come faeries (oops, I mean changelings) or vampires don't deal with them? And don't even get me started on the Technocracy. So, I figured if I was gonna bitch (and I do, at every opputunity), I should try my own hand at a fix. That's what's on your screen right now. |
