Starting in 2005, while attending college for my multimedia degree, I had decided once a group project for a second video game began that I would find some sort of software that allowed synthesizer notes to be played without actual MIDI.

It was for a game called Thanatos, which was a throwback space shooter-style video game. I also wanted slight chiptune but not really, something new. I then found a program called Orion by Synapse Audio. Though it is now defunct, I still use it to this day for my piano roll synth programming.

I would have honestly stopped by now but my newfound second job of video game soundtracks calls for this style and sound, but lately I've been digressing and making synth tracks WITH guitar for the noise vaults.
