The D-Town Diesel 2002
This is a story bout the team from D-Town Theyre not really tall, so they play low to the ground They have lots of funny stories that they use to explain The way they got their truly colorful nicknames Theyve got players like Billy Dead-arm Who serves a powerful ace But after a swing his arm hangs there like a corpse without a face. Theres Chris who they call Duck, but what he doesnt get Is they call him that cause when he swings, the players on the bench yell Duck! Hes gonna hit! The one that they call Magic Is Magic with the serve He floats it just above the net The ball just seems to curve But Drew and Bradley playing middle Have super human powers Because of all the blocks they have They call them the twin towers And as for Ryan and Andrew, The twins that look about grade seven Well, they call them the Twin Towers too, But AFTER 9-eleven And then theres another sophomore He goes by Stinky Feet Well until the Hilliard tournament Now hes two teeth Pete And until youve seen the setter, You havent seen them all, After the trip to Westerville, They call him One-ball Paul Theyve got and exchange student He comes from Brazil I heard he had some trouble Holding on to his thumbnail The story goes that it got stuck Up between two tooths It really doesnt make much sense to me Why they call him Goose Theres a midget outside hitter I think they call him Whitey But when he swings, the defense Might as well just say good-nighty
Opposite him a Capricorn His number forty-five He dinks and dinks til coach yells, Sub! They stitches blind kids in the eye Another kid plays everything He hits, he sets, he blocks He even recruits D-Town ladies This year he landed quite a fox Her brother played some volleyball Till his teachers got in the loop So they still have them a Garrabrant but this ones dating Schupp And who could forget young Bob Can this kid be for real? MVP twice for JV Varsity setter next year hell steal And then theres number 14 weighing in at 62 Intense and hard working Theres nothing this kid cant do At first they called him Burly But soon changed it to Ace Sometimes he even hits the ball Hes not just a pretty face And then theres outside hitter Nate Whos short but still hits really great And seldom ever dinks or fades Excepting when it comes to grades So thats the team called Diesel Their JV was 21-0 Before that fateful tournament match With just one game to go Five juniors and a sophomore All 6 foot tall and higher Still 21-1 aint bad Theres still spark in their fire And dont forget the varsity Whose record is deceiving A break in the tradition In their minds they were conceiving And in 12 years of volleyball A D-town Diesel streak Was broken when they reached third round They just did that last week. So if you do to D-town And want to see the Diesel Just do this my volleyball friend And please dont call them Weasel
