4 December          Fall Fishing Trips to NY State

You don't have to be a Yankees fan to love NY - there is great flyfishing that is within a day's drive.  The talk will be divided into two subjects - Montauk, NY in the east and Great Lakes tributaries in the west.

8 January Fly Fishing Southwest Florida by Capt. Bob Marvin

Bob will describe the diverse, year round shallow water fishery that exists in the Everglades and surrounding areas. Snook, jack crevalle, redfish, tarpon and other species can be pursued using floating lines and 7 or 8 weight rods. Bob Marvin is a creative fly tier, mostly fishing patterns that he has designed, and a life long Florida resident.

5 February Walk-in Rocky Mountain Trout by Neal Perkins

Neal will have an informal talk describing his experiences while hiking into two remote areas in the Western U.S. to fish for trout. The Wind River Range in Wyoming and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison River in southwestern Colorado will be discussed.

4 March TROUTING OF THE EAST SIDE OF THE OREGON CASCADES by Rich Bauer

The Cascade Mountain Range in Western Oregon gives rise to a number of wonderful, spring fed trout rivers on the Eastern side of the Range, including the Wood and Williamson Rivers in the south, and the Metolius River in the nothern part of the state. The Metolius River flows north into the lower Deschutes River a tailwater fishery of awesome power. These are all exciting and unique and beautiful places to pursue the wily trout.

1 April THE TULPEHOCKEN – YESTERDAY AND TODAY by Frank Plucinsky

Frank Plucinsky is a long time naturalist, photographer, and fly fisherman. He is an advocate for and has been fishing the Tulpehocken DHALO trout fishery since 1980. Since the beginning of this trout fishery he has collected data from various sources. A review of this data will reveal why this fishery is unique in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The program will also present practical information on the relationship between Tulpehocken stream flow (cfs) and fishing conditions. Mayfly and caddis emergence charts whose foundation is a large database from many years of aquatic insect collections will also be reviewed.
