Deketa loves using many different mediums. She grew up without the internet at home, and was very impressed with all the pages that her friends were making. When she moved away from home to attend University, she decided to dedicate a portion of her time to making herself a presence on the web.

But that got her to thinking, what would her page be about? Deketa had so many interests, and she wished to dedicate a page to each of them. So, with the time she had, she narrowed down her life into several categories, giving priority to a select few that she wished people to know about. With the ideas for the site in her head, she set about finding the best way to organize it. What you see have seen is just the first stage. Deketa still has a long way to go before her site is complete.

Still, why the internet? Because Deketa spends many hours a day on the computer, typing essays and reviews. It's easier to check her email than her answering machine most days - sad but true. Also, so many people are hooked up to the internet it is most likely that who she is looking for is bound to be there as well.

Looking for someone, you may wonder. Yes, in her heart Deketa is looking for someone. A warrior, someone who fought by her side long ago. She can't remember having met him, but she is searching, hoping that one day he will find her site. Lover, brother, friend... indeed, this hero, or anti-hero as is explained in her philosophy section is quite a find indeed, should ever it occur.

Why Does she like <insert interest here> so much?

There is a lot to be said for Role playing. And the majority of my interests lay with that. It is the experience of being someone else: of experiencing life though someone else. You problems don't seem so bad when you take a look at what some other people have been though, and try to act out their lives. Also, it gives me the creative edge I need for creating characters for my Creative Writing classes. To write a good fantasy character, you really should be familiar with Dungeons and Dragons. Act out the character, know first hand what they're apt to do, and not do, then you'll be able to write them no problem. I think the same principle can be applied to my love of philosophy and spiritualism. It's finding out who you are by means of finding out who you aren't. Seeing yourself thought different, older, wiser eyes. Comparing yourself, analyzing yourself, and feeling yourself as a being. Rather than taking for granted who you are.

Why does she like Writing so much?

Though writing, you get to learn more about yourself. Through your characters, subconsciously, you slip in your own opinions and biases. When you read back your work, sometimes you catch that. You say to yourself, 'huh, I didn't know I felt that way' or 'jeesh, I'm a real jerk about that subject'. Other than that, writing is a good way to focus your outside thoughts and actions into something you can 'roleplay' though your 'characters'.

Why does she like Philosophy so much?

Deketa has ALWAYS loved philosophy, since she was a very small child. Many times slipping into her own little dream world, Deketa spent many hours on end in contemplation. When she began University she started taking actual philosophy courses and enjoys them greatly! The classes cover absolutely everything she dreamed about as a child - and give her life new meaning and help her become a better person. The world can be a very hard thing to deal with sometimes, and philosophy helps Deketa with this. Through philosophy she has come to terms with some very difficult periods of her life.

This is probably the main question everyone is asking. All right, I guess I have held you in suspense for long enough.

I am Deborah, also known as Deketa. I am an 22 year old Female from Nanaimo, BC, Canada. I am attending University and trying for my Bachelor of Arts Major in Creative Writing and Philosophy. I am 5'2 tall (Vegeta is probably taller than I am!) with long dark hair (though currently coloured 'purple-black') and green eyes.

I am a self-made writer and philosopher - which basically just means that I have a way with words. I have acted as a teacher's assistant, and done some work as an English tutor. And am currently working part-time at the local Movie Gallery. 

I currently live in the basement of a house, after a separation from my boyfriend of 3 years, with my wonderful kitten Darwin (1 year old)

My goals? Let me think. Of course my main goal is to finish this site. It could take years to complete it to the point where I really feel that it is done. But then again, I will always have one more page to add - so I guess I will never be completely done no matter how long I type.

As for other goals, I want to become a better known as a writer. I have been published before, but nothing big. My writing goal is to have my first novel published by the time I am 25.  (heh, better get working on that.)

My last goal is to meet the person I am looking for. The mysterious warrior.
