February 15, 2003, 3:00pm

Meeting at HAU Love Terminal, we finalized matters concerning the baptismal of Roberto Amara's triplets.

February 22, 2003, 4:30pm

At the Sta. Teresita Parish Church, the triplets of batchmate, Roberto Amara were baptized. Our Officers, Board Members, and other batchmates were chosen to be ninongs and ninangs. Reception was held at Hoops. Roberto Amara now has a total of 12 children. Dekada Otsenta helped out in the baptismal of the triplets five months after they were born. More than 40 generous batchmates gave monetary pledges which we used in paying for baptismal expenses, the reception at Hoops, and the P7,000.00 pakimkim for the triplets. Roberto Amara in his speech during the party was very thankful to the fact that his triplets were finally baptized. He was teary-eyed for joy during his speech. After the baptismal party and while still at Hoops, we also celebrated the birthday party of Marilou Lobo-Tanhueco as well as the despedida party for Felisa Neri Bartolome-Valtersson, who returned to Sweden on February 23, 2003. There was both laughter and tears during the three-fold parties we had that night.

March 1, 2003

Together with Anita Catacutan-Pine, Israel Nunag, Marilou Lobo-Tanhueco, Cecil Dizon-Santiago and my son, Francis, we went to attend the ordination of batchmate Ernesto 'Estoy' David for Deaconship at the San Carlos Seminary in Guadalupe along EDSA. Jessie Kong, one of the board members met us there. The mass started at 2:00pm. For those of us present, we cannot really describe how we felt at that time. All we can say was that we were very happy to be there and felt blessed to witness such a special occasion. We are very proud to have a batchmate who will be a full pledge priest on December 2003. He will be ordained here in Angeles City. According to the Bishop who ordained him, there were originally ten to be ordained that day. However, on the night of February 28 he seriously talked with them one by one. He finally asked each one of them if they were truly ready to be ordained as Deacon and if they believed with all their heart that it was really their calling. After the final interview, only two were left and one of them was Estoy David. During the ordination, everybody in the chapel including us were teary eyed because of joy. We are looking forward to his ordination to priesthood this coming December. For Dekada Otsenta this will be another Get Together. We will plan this carefully so we can gather more batchmates this time. Rev. Estoy David said, "No more excuses for those who were not able to witness the event." After the mass and ordination, there was picture taking and then snacks for all present. Thanks to batchmate, Angelina Gando, who let us used her van for a very minimal fee.

Before 6:00pm we were on our way to Angeles City and, due to heavy traffic jam, we reached Angeles about 9:30pm. We then proceeded to Funeraria Indiongco were Madelyn Gabriel's body lies in state. She was the sister of Jocelyn Gabriel-Soriano.
