| Dear Parents/Guardians, Welcome to our 5th grade D-track class in room E4 at Newmark Elementary School. We have a very busy and exciting year in store for us! Before I give you a short preview of some of the subjects to be covered during the course of this year, let me first introduce myself. I am Ms. Ngo. I have lived in San Bernardino County for the last two years and previously, I have resided in San Diego and Orange County. I am currently working towards achieving my Masters Degree in Instructional Technology at the California State University of San Bernardino. Due to this, I greatly appreciate your patience and understanding in working with me and my busy schedule. This will be my third year at Newmark Elementary School and I consider myself very fortunate to be among such a professional faculty. I realize that teaching your child is a privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility. I will do my best this year to ensure that each student has a motivating and safe learning experience in the classroom. However, I cannot do this alone and I will need your help. We both need to be partners in the learning process. I need each of you to encourage your child at home by helping to ensure that he/she has completed their homework assignments, and help them study for tests, if necessary. I will keep you informed of all assignments and subjects that are covered in class with a weekly homework log. The homework log is used as a reminder tool to help your child prioritize his/her time and use it effectively and efficiently, to maximize his/her success in my classroom. The students have been instructed to obtain your signature on the homework log, every night. This will enable you to keep track of what he/she is doing in the classroom. Your time to sign the sheet is greatly appreciated. Included with this letter is the Classroom Procedures and Rules packet. Please review my expectations with your son or daughter. I have planned a very challenging and extensive curriculum for your child and I am sure that with good study habits, he/she will succeed in achieving all the learning outcomes required for this year. I am looking forward to a great year with your child! Thank you for sharing them with me. Also, thank you for all your help and support with your child's education. Sincerely, Ms. Ngo |
