What in the world could this section of the site possibly be about?  What does it have to do with Zelda?  Well to answer the second question first, it has nothing to do with Zelda.  What is this about?  This section of the site is going to deal with the Super Famicom (SNES) Role Playing Game "Elfaria".  The art and graphics in this game are outstanding, and the graphics in the game actually look like the artwork.  I can almost hear most of the people reading this saying, I have never heard of or seen this game.  The reason why you would never have heard of this game, nor played it, is due to the fact that it is entirely in Japanese.
Since Emulation has become extremely popular in recent years, different games have had the opportunity to be translated into English.  Different translation groups such as DeJap and J2e have worked hard to bring high quality English translations of good Japanese console RPG's.  When I first came to J2E's website I was overjoyed when I saw a translation project being worked on for Elfaria's sequel.  This was not the exact game that I had wanted to play, but it would definately suffice.  My excitement immediately turned to dismay as soon as I saw the project had been abandoned.
I first got wind of Elfaria about 7 or 8 years ago in a GamePro magazine.  Every now and then the magazine would give reviews of Super Famicom games that were trendy and had hope of crossing over to the West.  The screenshots were amazing, and the game looked like it would be extremely fun.  The game never made it here, and there is very little information on most RPG sites about its existence.  Japanese sites do have information on the game but most of it is indecipherable to me since I only know a handful of characters.
So What About This Project?
This project is a plea to those of you who have the skills of translating and ROM hacking.  I know that there are others out there who would love to enjoy Elfaria as much as I would and we need your help.  Many might think this is a vain attempt at getting something pointless done, but I've seen it done before.  I've seen several games that were hopeless that had projects like these done, and headway was made.  I've included the ROM for Elfaria on this page so anyone can preview it in its Japanese form.
