| FIRST TIME ONSTAGE, 1 This is my first time onstage! I am wearing my first performance outfit, minus the shirt and aba I modelled earlier. In addition, I have: completed the tassle belt; pinned a coin headdress to the front of the turban to hang over my forehead; borrowed an extravagant Afghan necklace; pinned a torqoise chunk bracelet (a gift from the lovely Ladina) to the bottom of the choli to highlight flutters in the dim light; and have pinned 30 braids into a bun on the back of my head under the turban (I have very fine, slick hair so the bun helps anchor the turban and keeps it from riding up when i tilt my head back); also, I am wearing a pair of black and white harem pants I made from a pair of pajama pants 5 sizes to big that I elasticized the bottoms and split the side seams. |
