Chapter 72: Before the Hershey Kisses 300 presented by Oreo @ Daytona
The next morning everyone woke up
�Good Morning Ashley,� Jr said when he got up.
�Good Morning Jr,� replied Ashley
�Do you want me to cook you anything for breakfast before I go and meet with my team?� Jr offered
�Naw that�s ok,� Ashley denied the offer.
�Ok,� Jr said. So Jr got ready and headed to meet the team. When Jr got to the garage he had to wait for his team to come. BONO showed up first.
�Hey BONO,� Jr said when BONO got there.
�Hey Jr,� replied BONO.
�What is going on?� Jr asked.
�Nuttin really,� BONO answered. �Just we got a bunch of crew members who just didn�t wake up this morning when I went to wake em all up.�
�Oh are they coming or not?� Jr wondered.
�Well I finally got them up after I finished getting ready so they should be here in a couple of minutes,� BONO assured her.
�Ok,� Jr said. And after a couple minutes passed the crew came. �Hi guys.�
�Hello Jr,� the crew said.
�Ok lets get this meeting started,� BONO started the meeting off.
Then Martin showed up with Tony Jr and his crew and said, �Well starting the team meeting without your teammate? That�s not fair!�
�Sorry but you guys were late Martin,� Jr apologized.
�Yeah well Tony Jr forgot to wake up the other half of the guys and that made us all late because we were waiting for them,� Martin explained to Jr.
�Oh,� Jr said.
�So you got some sleepy heads too?� BONO asked. �Well that�s not good boys. Now lets get this meeting underway. I first wanna ask team owner Dale Jr to express anything he would like to say.�
�Thanks BONO,� Jr thanked him. �I would like to say that you guys are doing good and just keep up the good work.�
�I agree,� Tony agreed.
�Ok,� Jr said. �Just do your best during the race ok?�
�Ok,� everyone replied.
�Ok I am going to turn it over to BONO now and he will let you know what you need to do,� Jr said.
�Alrighty,� BONO begun. �We all have are famous checklist. Now before we present the car for tech inspection I want everyone to go over their checklist and make sure all is right. If anything appears to be wrong fix it and if you feel that you may want to check with me or Tony Jr first call us over.�
�Ok,� everyone said.
�Now lets get to work,� BONO said.
Then everyone on Jr.�s team got to work and then everyone on Martin�s team got to work also. They then got the cars down to inspection. While the cars were going through tech Jr and Martin were chatting.
�So what did you do with Ashley last night Jr?� Martin asked.
�Well I got Kelley to take Ashley shopping while I and Teresa prepared a surprise dinner for her,� Jr started. �And then we had dinner and dessert. And then we watched the sunset on the beach.�
�Oh,� Martin said.
�Yeah,� Jr said. �Ashley got this pretty dress and had her hair so pretty. I mean she looked like the perfect angel that any guy would like. So how was your night?�
�It was ok,� Martin answered. �I just was talking with Nicole and we just watched movies.�
�Ah that so cool,� Jr commented. �So how are you feeling after Mr. Johnson bugged yeah yesterday? Like are you sore at all?�
�No I�m not sore at all,� replied Martin.
�Ok I am just wondering,� Jr said. �I mean I care about you.�
�Thanks man,� Martin thanked him.
�Anytime,� Jr said.
Martin and Jr get ready for the race and then they went out for driver introductions.
�Good luck in the race today,� Jr told Martin.
�Right back at yeah,� replied Martin. �Lets work together now.�
�Ok,� Jr agreed to the plan.
�And forget all about me?� Mikey asked when he joined them.
�We will never forget all about you Mikey,� Jr assured him. �Lets work together too with Kev ok?�
�Now your talking,� Mikey said.
�Ok,� Jr said.
After they got done the driver introductions they got in their cars and were ready for the race.
Then after the national anthem and the prayer, the Grand Marshall Darryl Waltrip said, �Gentlemen start your engines.�
They then started their pace laps
