Chapter 26: At the Infield Care Centre
When they arrive at the infield care centre, Kevin goes up to the desk and says, �I�d like to see a doctor again since my arm still hurts.�
�Ok,� the nurse says. The nurse went and got one of the doctors. When the nurse comes back, she says, �The doctor will see you now Kevin.�
�Want me to come with you or stay here?� Jr asks.
�You can come with me,� Kevin replies.
Jr follows Kevin. Kevin and Jr went in the room.
�So it still hurts?� the doctor asks.
�Yes it does,� replies Kevin.
�More than before?� the doctor questions.
�Kind of,� Kevin says.
�I think we should take a x-ray just to see if there is anything inside really wrong,� the doctor says.
�Ok,� Kevin says.
The doctor goes to set everything up. While he was gone, Jr and Kevin started chatting.
When the doctor comes back into the room, the doctor says, �Everything is set up. Lets go to the x-ray room.�
�Alright,� Kevin says.
Then Kevin follows the doctor into the room. Dale Jr just stands there and waits for Kevin to come back. After the x-rays were done, Kevin returns to the room where Jr was waiting for him to come back.
�Now I just have to wait for the results,� Kevin says.
�Ok,� Jr says. �Man, my side started hurting just a few minutes ago. I mean, it hasn�t hurt at all till now and I haven�t banged it on anything. Hmmm�maybe from Jimmie and Jeff.�
�Maybe from them,� Kevin says thinking about it.
�I think I should get it looked at well I�m here, don�t you agree?� Jr wonders.
�I agree with you Jr,� Kevin says.
The doctor then came back with the results for Kevin.
�What is the results?� Kevin asks as Dale Jr bit his tongue so he wouldn�t scream.
The doctor says, �There is nothing wrong because I don�t see anything wrong with your arm.�
�That�s weird,� Kevin comments. �What should I do if my arm still hurts?�
�That is what I�m thinking about,� the doctor answers.
�Ok,� Kevin says.
�Well, I could give you pain killers but if it still hurts and it hurts worse, there might be something else that we don�t know about,� the doctor thinks.
�Ok,� Kevin says. �Can you check Jr out too since his side is hurting?�
�Sure,� the doctor says.
�Ok,� Kevin says.
Then the doctor turns to Jr and says, �Jr, what�s wrong with your side and how long has it been hurting?�
�I don�t know what�s wrong,� Jr starts. �It just hurts a lot. It has been hurting since you left with Kevin for some reason.�
�Ohh,� the doctor says thinking about it. �I will give you pain killers to help with the pain.�
�Ok but I mean, isn�t it weird for me to be standing here and it starts hurting?� Jr wonders.
�Yes it is weird,� the doctor agrees.
�Gosh, my arm hurts and nuttin showed up on the x-ray and now your side starts hurting well I�m gone?� Kevin adds.
�I know,� Jr agrees. �Its so weird Kevin.�
�Alright, I have a idea for both scenarios,� the doctor interrupts. �Kevin, I�m gonna talk to the other doctor about your arm and for you Jr, I think we should take a x-ray on that.�
They both say ok.
Kevin then adds, �You can deal with Jr first. I see he is about to bite his tongue for the 10th time.�
The doctor left the room to talk to another doctor about Kevin�s arm. While the doc was doing that, Kevin and Jr were talking
�Man, does it hurt a lot like you look?� Kevin asked.
�Yes it does,� replies Jr.
�Damn,� Kevin says. �Alright, I think we should key are buds and tell them what we have and then they will pass it to Richard, Mike, Ty, Teresa, Dalandra and the girls.�
�I agree with you Kevin,� Jr agrees.
Kevin turnes it on and says, �Testing testing...Mikey and Robby, come in please.�
�Hi Kevin,� Mikey says. �What do you need?�
�Listen to this update on us two and tell the following people: Ty, Richard, Mike, Teresa, Dalandra, Robby, Amanda and Ashley.� Kevin starts off. �Ready for the update.�
�Ok�I am ready for the update,� Mikey says.
�Mine first�they did another x-ray on my arm and nothing showed up so the doctor is talking to the other doctor,� Kevin explains. �Now, update on J is: well I was getting my x-ray done, his side started hurting. Weird but ne wayz, the doctor said after talking to the other doctor about my arm. He�ll do a x-ray on J�s side. Now, J says it hurts a lot.�
�Ok,� Mikey says. �Anything else do I need to know before I let the people know?�
�No,� Kevin replies. �Anything else J?�
�Nope,� Jr answers.
�Alright, if anyone wants to come, I�ll tell them where ya guys are,� Mikey says. �I think Teresa might wanna come Jr. Ne wayz, if you want more J or K, let us know.�
�Ok,� Jr says.
�See ya boys after,� Mikey says.
�Ok,� Kevin says. �Bye Mikey.�
The doctor then comes back with the other doctor.
�Can you come with me Jr to the x-ray room while Kevin is going to be checked out by another doctor?� the doctor asks.
�Sure,� Jr says. �K, when I get back, tell me what happened on your end because I�ll tell you my end.�
�Ok,� Kevin says.
So, Jr went to the x-ray room. Kevin stands there looking at the other doctor.
�Do you know what is wrong with my arm and why it is still hurting so much?� Kevin asks,
�Nope,� the other doctor says.
�Ok,� Kevin says.
�Alright, I have a question,� the other doctor starts. �From where to where does it hurt?�
�It hurts from my shoulder down to my elbow,� replies Kevin.
�Hey,� the doctor says. �You know what? It might be your shoulder that got hurt and not your arm and the pain has just spread.
�Ok,� Kevin says.
�So I think we should do a x-ray of your shoulder,� the doc says.
�Ok,� Kevin says.
�We will just have to wait till Jr is done,� the doc adds.
�Ok,� Kevin says.
So Kevin waits till Teresa and Dalandra come in together. Teresa and Dalandra come to the care centre and ask the girl at the desk if they could see Jr and Kevin.
Kevin then looks and yells, �Dalandra, I�m right here. Teresa, Jr is getting a x-ray done.�
�Ok,� Dalandra says. Dalandra then walks over to where Kevin is with Teresa. �So, how are you feeling right now?�
�A little bit better then before but it still hurts,� answers Kevin.
�Well, that�s a little better,� Teresa says. �So, what is exactly up with my little angel?�
�While Jr was waiting for me to get out of the x-ray room, his side started to hurt,� Kevin explains.
�Well, that�s weird,� Teresa comments. �Gosh, how many more weird things are going to happen today.�
�I don�t really know Teresa,� Kevin says.
Jr then comes back with the doctor.
�Are you ok Jr?� Teresa asks.
�My side still hurts a lot,� replies Jr.
�What did the doctor say?� asks Kevin.
�He said he has to look at the x-rays,� answers Jr.
�Ok,� Kevin says.
The other doctor then came over to Kevin and says, �Well, Jr is done for now. Lets go get that x-ray of your shoulder done.�
�Ok,� Kevin says. �Jr, let me know what is going on with your side when I get back.�
Then Kevin and the other doctor go to get the x-ray done on Kevin�s shoulder. Teresa just went beside Jr and just put her hand around him.
�Thanks for the hug,� Jr says.
�Your welcome,� Teresa says.
Then the doctor comes back with the results. Jr just listens to what the doctor has to say. Teresa just stands there hoping for the best and Jr was hoping that he will be ok. Kevin then comes back and just stands still like a statue
�What is going on doctor with my side?� Jr asks.
The doctor opens his folder and says, �Umm�Jr has,�
Teresa was getting nervous about Jr.
Jr was also getting nervous but then says, �May you go on?�
�He has a side pain that will last for a few hours,� the doctor says.
�Ok�so there�s a good and a bad,� Jr says. �Bad is I got it for a few hrs but the good is it ends in a few hrs.�
�Right Jr,� the doctor says.
�Well, that�s not as bad as it could be,� Teresa adds.
Jr sees Kevin is there and waits for Kevin to tell Jr what the doc said.
�He said that he�s looking at the x-ray of my shoulder,� Kevin says.
�Ok,� Jr says.
�And don�t worry about telling me what the doctor said because I heard,� Kevin adds. �Anyways, how do you plan to deal with this really bad pain for the next few hrs?�
�I think I might go and just relax for the next few hours,� replies Jr.
�I think that�s the best idea,� Kevin agrees. �Listen, I�m going to contact m and r so they can past this report.�
�Ok,� Jr says.
�M or R, come in please,� Kevin says.
�Hey Kevin,� Robby replies to the call. �How is everything going in the care centre? And what is the latest update?�
�From now on when I contact you, say hey K or just K,� Kevin requests. �Now, that is what I�m gonna tell yea. Now, latest on me is they did a x-ray of my shoulder. Latest on J is the pain in his side will only last a few hrs.�
�Ok K,� Robby says. �That is good to hear about Jr but let us know about you. K?
�Ok R,� replies Kevin. �I�ll let you know the latest. How�s everything there?�
�Everything there is good,� Robby answers. �Me and M are just talking to Ash and Amanda.�
�Ok R,� Kevin says. �R, short for Amanda will be Mandy, k?�
�Ok K,� replies Robby.
�Pass the news and I�ll get back to you on me as soon as possible,� Kevin says. �Bye R.�
�Bye K,� says Robby.
�Jr, I passed the news,� Kevin tells Jr.
�Ok Kevin,� Jr says.
�Yea, Robby and Mikey�s side is good,� Kevin reports.
�That is good to hear,� Jr says.
The doctor then comes and says, �I think that you might have�.�
Kevin and Dalandra got all nervous.
�You have a shoulder pain that will last you for about 24 hours,� the doctor reports.
�That will last till after the bgn race,� Kevin says.
�It might last till after the bgn race or the beginning of the Cup race.� The doctor adds.
�Hold in�its not a regular weekend,� Jr interrupts. �Its right now like 5pm or something like that so at 5pm tomorrow we will have of had all 3 practices.�
�That is right Jr,� Kevin agrees. �It might last all 3 practices.�
�And you have bgn practice and cup practice,� Jr adds. �Mine ends at 7pm which won�t effect anything.�
�Right,� Kevin agrees.
�If I�m right,� the doctor adds. �Jr, if yours doesn�t stop at 7pm, please come back. Kevin, if yours stops before or not at 5pm tomorrow, please come back.�
Kevin and Jr say ok and then leave the infield care centre.
�First things first�Mikey�s trailer,� Jr says. �Lets stick together and if we see dumb and dumber, contract me. Wait, get us outta here.�
�Ok J,� Kevin says.
