Dale Jr Do You Know?
By Lisa Matthis
There are times that I often wonder, as I sit and watch you race
Do you ever notice the cheers; do you see the smiles upon our face?
Can you feel the excitement of your fans; the volume seems to build,
As you drive that Bud car carefully, and slice up through the field?
Sometimes I wonder when I’m home again, and listen in to you
And Ty guides you safely, as you describe the car to your crew.
Do you know how much we worry, when things just aren’t right?
About you and your safety, when the car is too loose or too tight.
Sometimes I worry when things go wrong, and you know sometimes they will.
To hear your voice say, "I’m ok..", how good that makes me feel.
Then to hear you again, when you tell the crew to keep "their heads held up high.
You can’t win races looking down" You gave it a helluva try.
And then sometimes I stop and think, how much are you really aware?
Do you really understand how passionate we are, how much your fans really care?
How we scream with happiness when you arrive amongst the sprays of champagne!
How we hurt when things don’t quite work out, but support you just the same!
The excitement and inspiration you’ve given, since the shootout near the beach
Your true fans are always there for you; that championship is within your reach!
Even though you say sometimes you don’t understand; we support you, always will.
No matter what happens, that in the end, we’ll always love you still!
