Chapter 13

And the winner of Auto Club 500 is Martin Truex Jr! After the race,
everyone was interviewed.

  LARRY MCRENOLDS: Here I am standing with the winner, who has led the
most laps. Congratulations on the win.

  MARTIN: Thanks. We had a great day out here. I’d like to thank the
teams, for doing such a good job.

  LARRY: They have must be very happy.

  MARTIN: Yeah, that’s for sure. Let’s go to Darrell Waltrip, who’s
standing with Kasey.

  DW: Kasey, I must say that was a hard hit. What happened out there?

  KASEY: Got too loose.


  DW:  Oh, are you okay?

  KASEY: Yep, I’m all good as new.

  DW: Good to hear.

  KASEY: There’s always the next race.

  DW: Yeah.

  KASEY: I’m gotta go, DW.

  DW: Ok.

  After being interviewed by DW, Kasey went over to Kristina’s house.
He knocks on the door.

  KRISTINA: Who’s there?

  KASEY: It’s me, Kasey.

  KRISTINA: Why are you here?

  KASEY: I want to talk to you.

  KRISTINA: Come on in.

  Kristina opens the door, and Kasey comes in.

  KRISTINA: So, what do you want to talk about?

  KASEY: I heard that Jeff is gone, and I just wanted to see if your
okay.

  KRISTINA: I’m okay.

  KASEY: Are you sure, because I see pain in your eyes?

  KRISTINA: No, I miss him soo much!!!! Why did this happen? Why?

  KASEY: Come here.

  Kristina goes over to sit beside him on the couch.

  KASEY: It’s going to be ok.

  KRISTINA: How do you know?

  KASEY: I just know.

  Later on, Kristina fell asleep on his shoulders.
