This is a list of terms used in the Torg Cosmverse.

Cosm

An idependent reality, with its own Axioms and World Laws.

Axiom

A value used to define the Technological, Magical, Spiritual, or Social progress of a Cosm or Pocket Dimension. A value of Zero means that there is no signifgant use of that type in the cosm, and a value of 33 is projected to be the end point of the scale.

World Laws

Rules of each Cosms reality. World Laws define the way that the Axioms interact. They extend the Axioms and make each Cosm unique.

Stormer

The High Lords term for a Storm Knight.

Storm Knight

Someone who carries their reality with them into other Cosms. Storm Knights cannot be converted into another reality, and some can even control reality for small intervals of space and time. The High Lords refer to Storm Knights as Stormers, due to the fact that the majority of the Storm Knights realize their power in a Reality Storm during an invasion. The majority of the heros in the fight against the High Lords are Storm Knights.

High Lords

Rulers of invading Cosms. Each High Lord has a Darkness Device that allows them to tap Possibilities from their own cosm, as well as those areas they control in conquerer cosms. The High Lords are the supreme evil in the Possibility Wars, the leaders of the enemy forces. However, each High Lord, in addition to their huge store of equipement, troops and Possibility Energy, earned their possition by crawling over all other takers. A High Lord in an one-to-one fight (if they would ever consider such a foolish thing) is a nearly unbeatable foe.

Darkness Device

Strange, arcane artifacts that allow the High Lords to tap Possibility Energy directly from their own or conquered Cosms. Darkness Devices are rumored to be able to subtly alter reality for its High Lord. It is the possession (and use) of a Darkness Device that makes one a High Lord. Each Darkness Device is rumored to be in some way sentient, with plans and goals of its own.
