GADDON

Gaddon is an unremarkable world off of the major jump lanes. It is two transitions away from any other useful system. The nearest system is Kainari, which holds (a tentative) title to the world. A League corporation, Lysani Laboratories, holds the rights to the world currently.

Gaddon has been so far passed over in the colonization scheme. A large world with a dense atmosphere, tainted by biological compounds from the indigenous plant life. Its size makes gravity (1.3G) a problem. It has few accessible mineral resources, with most of its mass tied up in the mantle and core. Also, the native plant life gives off a variety of pollens and spores that have disturbing effects on the human metabolism. Prolonged exposure to the atmosphere can cause a variety of hallucenagenic and psychotic effects, and then severe viral infections and long problems. Gaddon just isn't that great a prize for settlers.

The population of Gaddon consists of the members of a mining camp harvesting a small stream of precious minerals. The camp is run by the Kainari corporation Lysani Laboratories. The Mining camp has about 800 workers and staff and provides only small profits for Lysani.
