Mercy

Solitude is the way forward
But why should it be that way for her?
Another night, another dream
Taking from inside what she wants to keep
A thousand ways to live
And she chooses pain

It's mercy she's asking for
Through the loss of prized possessions
She'd trade her soul for that normal life
Gaining confidence
At someone else's expense

In another life beyond this place
She heals because she's had enough
But not here, not now
It's still mercy she's asking for

Tortured by her mind's obsessions
She cannot see through her tears
Her courage, swallowed up

It's mercy she's asking for
She can't forgive anymore

And still in this land, it's mercy she's asking for
