Lonely Game Of Solitaire

How was it possible that I said those words?
How could it be so real?
But I did, I said goodbye to you that day
Though my mind has no memory of it now

You left me standing alone
A siren with no one to seduce with song
I'm afraid that this is what I have to do
Play a lonely game of solitaire

I wish I'd said something, given you a sign
But your heart was strong enough to know
You had to go, you had to give me the chance
To understand this game of solitaire

I still wonder how I said goodbye
Surely I am not strong enough?
But you knew I was, and let me
Though my mind has no memory of it now
