Honda Civic

Ah,the Honda Civic. Probably the most popular car for import tuners (and Rice Boys) in North America today. What makes this car so popular? Well, there are millions of aftermarket parts available for it, just about any product you need. If you need Turbochargers,Superchargers,NOS,Cam Gears, anything, it's there for the Civic. The car is somewhat stylish, but, there are aftermarket body kits, probably thousands, available for the Civic. It's somewhat cheap, but, the engine leaves a lot to be desired.Of course, that deoends on the model

Honda Civic Models 96-00
Horsepower Price(2000)
Honda Civic Hatchback 108 HP $12,000
Honda Civic Dx 108 HP $12,000
Honda Civic Lx 132 HP $14,000
Honda Civic Ex 125 HP $13,000
Honda Civic Si 160 HP $17,000
Honda Civic Type R 180 HP N/A (Only Sold In Japan)

As you can see, paying more money =more horsepower, except in terms of the Civic Lx, which weighs a lot more than any of the other models (probably about 200-300 pounds more). The reason there is no price listen for the Civic Type R is because it is not sold in America. The picture above is a Civic Type R, and if you look closely, you can see the emblem right next to the rear wheel. I believe in Japan it is available for about $19,000 U.S dollars. In order for a Civic to actually go fast, because, even the Si,the fastest U.S model, only runs a 15.9 1/4 mile.

As I was saying, one of the best ways to add power to a Civic is a turbocharger or , and engine swap. An engine swap is usually done with a B18C engine, which is found in the Integra GS-R. This is a much stronger engine, and has a little more horsepower. However, don't think you can add much power to your Civic with just an intake and exhaust. But,as the car is, it is a good base for a project for a nice, reliable, fast car.
