| This site is pretty much all about my tiny honda hatchback It started about a year ago, when i bought my car in illinois, it was september 2002. After not more than 3 months, I had already found a wealth of information on engine swaps. After realizing theres about 4 aftermarket parts for my engine, I dedcided I'll need something better to make power. why do I need power, I don't know, something's wrong with all humans and we have mysterious attractions to things like music, sex, porn, skiing, and power. Anyway I started to consider a ZC swap. 130ps (pferdestarke) (roughly same as horsepower) would be a great improvement over the stock decent but not exciting 91hp. I then rode in my friends bonneville ssei one day and said, wow, I need my car to be as fast as that thing 'cause it felt quick. so after calculating about a million power-to-weight vs. acceleration figures from other cars, I realized only the b16a could provide that acceleration. so I researched for about 6 months until I knew every detail of wiring and swapping and converting necessary to make the b16 swap happen. Then I had to save up forever, eventually I had enough for the engine and shipping. shipping $300 jesus H. thats a lot. anyway when I got the engine it was in surprisingly pleasing shape. under the valve cover the valvetrain looked very clean. so I gave it some maintenance parts and got ready to swap. taking the old d15a3 out was a bitch, but it eventually got done. then getting that big bastard b16a in was scary it looked like it wasn't gonna fit. but after gutting the engine bay and taking out the bumper and the radiator it went in. then I lined it up and got ready to make custom motor mounts. I credit the method I used to corey, who has a hybrid crx which I'll provide a link to. they were tough but eventually costom mounts were made. then two nights of staying up 'til 5 in the morning and looking all over the area for a place that sells shielded wiring, I was able to get the whole ECU/engine/body wiring harness fabricated. I also made a vtec indicator out of a very nice looking blue LED. well now that the swap is done I'm very impressed, the son of bitch just about flys like hell. 2nd gear is definitely the funnest, in 2nd acceleration is ridiculous. but my whole idea with this car is no-rice, but impressive in other ways. the valve cover is the one thing that might be considered rice but too bad it looks great. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
