| Cassie and Missy brought Aubree far away from AJ, to Ryan. "Ryan?" She grabbed his hand and he spun quickly around, not happy at all. "Something wrong?" "Something wrong," he asked raising his voice. "Damn fuckin' straight something is wrong! I knock on my girlfriend's door only to later find out that she got invited dancing. That's not the problem. The problem is that it was by AJ!" He took her hands and spun her around. "Let's go! We're leaving!" She turned back to him and put her hands on her hips. "I'm not leaving." "Let's go," he protested as he pointed towards the door. "I'm not leaving. I'm not getting into a car with you this angry. And for only a speculation, a hatred, the fear of one guy, you are this angry? We'll talk about it tomorrow." She crossed her arms and turned away from him. Ryan through his hands up in the air and growled as he stomped out of the club. AJ, who was watching from afar, came into her view. Aubree kept her distance away from him. "Its best we just have our prfessional relationship until I get things settled with Ryan." "You mean you still want to be with him," AJ asked as he took a rather firm voice. "Yea. It was just a kiss, Alex. I'll see you monday for taping. I need to go." ~*~*~*~ "Ryan! Ryan, open the door." Aubree stood impatiently outside of his hotel room. "I don't see why you are so mad. He is my best friend, Ryan. I'm going to be spending time with him and if you're going to be such an ass about it..." Ryan opened the door quickly. "Then what? You'll break up with me?" "I was going to say that you'll have to live with it. Is this you? Is this the real you? Are you going to be like this with every guy I'm close to? How come you aren't mad if I hang out with Dave or Terrance?" "Its different, Aubree. Its so fuckin different!" "How, Ryan," she asked as her tone measured up to his. "How?" "He loves you! Why can't you get that through your head?" Aubree stepped away from him. Shocked because everything finally clicked. Ryan had told her this before but it never registered in her brain. AJ and Aubree had flirted all this time, but she never thought anything of it. Ryan closed his eyes, took a breath, and opened his eyes back up to a tearful Aubree. "For the past 3 months I've seen you a little bit different. You've had this special, happy glow to your beautiful, beautiful smile that I have never seen before. He brings it out of you." Aubree cocked her head to the side. A tear fell and she whined as she knew where Ryan was headed with his speech. He took her hand and with his other hand he wiped her tears. "I love you too much to see you with him, and I love you too much to keep you unhappy." "Ryan, no..." He shook his head in disagreement. "I want you to be happy and I'm not the right guy to make it happen." "Ryan," Aubree pleaded. "This will be for the best." "No." "Yes. I'll go back to California, you'll go on tour." "Not without you." "You'll have everyone else." Ryan swallowed hard. "And you'll have AJ. You'll be fine, Bree." He stepped back into his hotelroom. "Goodbye, sweetie. I love you," he said as he shut the door. ~*~*~*~ AJ ran down stairs with his dogs following him close at his heels. The doorbell rang a second time just before he opened it. "I was hoping you'd be home fromt he club by now." "Aubree!" AJ opened the door wider so she could enter. "Well, after you left I wasn't much in the dancing mood. What's wrong?" She plopped down on his couch and put her head in her hands. "Ryan broke up with me," she said as she peeked through her fingers at him. "He's packed and probably on his way to the airport, to California." He pushed her fingers away from her face. "What was his reason?" "He loves me too much for me to continue being with him." "What?" A disgusted look came over her face. "He wants me to be with you." AJ smirked. "You say that like its a bad thing." Aubree sighed and turned her body to face AJ. "Alex, you know I love you. You're so sweet, so kind, so funny, so...so sexy. That kiss tonight was amazing and I'm just too confused about the feelings it sparked to do anything." "That's okay. Its okay," he reasurred her as his hand rubbed her thigh. She leaned against the back of the couch and put her hand on her forehead. "I'm just so mentally exhausted!" "Stay over here tonight. Its a long drive back to the hotel for you to make in the middle of the night." Aubree raised an eyebrow. "You sure?" "Yea, you can sleep in the second bedroom." "Alrighty then. I'm gonna go and take a shower if I'm going to be staying over here. Where to?" "Upstairs," AJ chuckled. He took her hand and led her upstairs. "Your room is here, mine is there and this is the bathroom. Everything is fresh, so don't worry." She laughed, "Thanks." "Since I know you are safe, I'm going to hit the sack." "Alright. Night," Aubree said as she kissed his cheek. ~*~*~*~ As Aubree tested the water's temperature, she thought a bath would soothe her best. She plugged the drain, poured some soap, and climbed in leaving the water to fill the tub around her. Aubree opened her eyes as she heard a knock on the door. "Yes?" "I just wanted to tell you I put some clothes on your bed for you to sleep in." She giggled. "You can come in here, Al." AJ opened the door slowly and peeked his head in. The bubbles from the soap barely covered her body. AJ cleared his throat. "I left some clothes..." "Yea I heard you. I just wanted you to come in." Aubree glanced over at him and smiled sweetly. "I want to feel comfortable around you. And I want you to feel comfortable around me." She bent her legs so her knees were out of the water and she put her hands behind her head. The more bare skin she showed, the more AJ wanted to be in the tub with her. "I'm comfortable around you." "You are?" "Yea," he said as he turned away. By this time there were only a little bit of bubbles in the tub. "Well if you're so comfortable, then could you hand me that towel over there?" AJ walked over to the rack and pulled a towel down, and handed it to her. This gave him the perfect view of her completely. 'I need her,' he thought to himself. He bit his lip so he wouldn't say anything. "Thanks." She looked up at him. "I'm comfortable with you too but not comfortable enough to stand up in this tub with you watching." AJ turned around and rested his head on the bathroom door. Aubree put her hand gently on his shoulderand turned him around. He was wearing his black pants still but didn't have a shirt on. She looked in his eyes and smiled. Her fingers tickled their way down his arms and jumped over to his stomach, then trailed their way back up and rested behind his head. AJ licked his lips. Seeing that, Aubree began to kiss him. He kissed her back but his hands were no where on her, but plasered to the door they leaned on. Her magic fingers found their way to his pants. As she began to unbutton them AJ felt he needed to stop her. "Bree no." "But I need you Alex," she whispered as she nibbled on his ear: his weak spot. "I need love, Alex, please." His excitement turned sour after she said that. "You need to get some sleep now." "I want to be with you." "Let's sleep, in seperate beds, and we'll talk about this tomorrow." "Fine!" Aubree pushed AJ out of her way and ran into her room, slamming the door behind her. Chapter 9 Featured Stories Main Page |
