| "Okay, you've got my cell number and I've got yours. I've also programmed your home phone if I can't reach you at our house or on your cell. And I've got your cousin's if you go over there. And I put my mom's number on your phone if you couldn't understand the hotel number if I leave it on your voicemail." He took a deep breath. "I think thats it." "You sure," Dillan asked sarcastically. "I'll call you when we land." "Dude, its okay. I'll be fine. I can survive without you." A hurt look over came AJ's face. He was stunned that she had said that. "I'll miss you." He pecked Dillan on the cheek and boarded his plane followed by two bodyguards. Before Dillan could say goodbye, he had disappeared down the terminal. ~*~*~*~ Being that it was almost 2:30 am when she arrived home, Dillan was tired but couldn't sleep. She tossed and turned in their bed. 'This is too weird,' she thought. She turned to face the part of the bed AJ was supposed to be in. She stuffed her face in his pillow and could smell his scent. This wasn't helping. She looked at the clock. 2:34. "He's only been in the air for a half hour? I'm not going to make the 3 months." She picked up her kitten, Revvy, and put her in her lap. AJ had gotten the kitten before he'd left for the tour. Revvy was short for "au revoir," "good bye" in French. "I'm not gonne make it." ~*~*~*~ "This flight seems so long. Are we almost there?" "No, AJ. We are still gaining altitude." "No way. Damn! Can't we go any faster," AJ said as he looked out the window. He looked back at Howie who had his head firmly pressed to the back of the seat and hands tightly gripping the arm rests. "Still scared of take offs I see." Howie gave him a grunt as his eyes were never taken off the seat belt light being that they were still lit up. They turned off and Howie entered a race to take off his seat belt and relax. "Uh, ma'am. Can I please get a galss of iced water with a slice of lemon," he asked the attendant as he cleared his throat. AJ shook his head at his buddy as he ordered and iced tea. He slipped off his shoes and began to tuck his legs under his feet. "I can't believe you don't like take offs, D. They are the best parts." He put his arms on the arm rests and began to move forwards and backwards. "But landings are the best." They sat in silence for a few seconds. "Hey How, where are we gonna be on December 15th?" "Umm, off the top of my head, I have no idea. Go ask Julie." He pointed in the direction behind him as he put his head phones on to watch 'Rush Hour.' AJ kneeled on his seat and scanned heads to find Julie's. "Kev. Do you know where Julie is?" "Nope. Whatcha need?" "Where are we playing on the 15th?" "I don't know but I can check." Kevin pulled out his electronic organizer and pressed the screen with the special stick. "Lemme see." AJ snatched the machine from him and sat back down in his seat, sending Kevin to tower over him to make sure he doesn't break it. "Who's more organized now?" He glared at Howie and he just turned up the volume to his headphones. "Paris! Yes! Thats perfect." AJ gave the organizer back to Kevin. "Thats when I'll see her." Howie took his head phones off. "Is that when you're gonna ask her?" Brian and Nick turned around in their seats and asked in unison, "You gonna ask her?" AJ reached into his pocket and pulled out a red heart velvet box. He opened it and slipped the ring on his index finger. "If all goes well she'll be wearing this." "You sure she's ready for this," Brian asked. "Yea, its a very big step, J," Kevin warned from behind him. "She's ready guys. I'm gonna fly her out for a couple days. On her birthday, I'm gonna take her up to the Eiffel Tower and propose to her. She's not going to say no." He swallowed hard and looked to his brothers. "Right?" Chapter 20 Featured Stories Main Page |
