Summary of the Creative Writing Course

Lesson 1: The Fundamental of a Sentence 

  • This lesson identifies the components of a complete sentence.  It discusses nouns, present and past tense verbs, subject and verb agreement, adjectives, and adverbs.

Lesson 2: Verbs and Their Usage

  • This lesson discusses finite and nonfinite verbs, the five rules of using verbs, and gives a comprehensive list of irregular verbs

Lesson 3: The Comma and its Usage

  • This lesson discusses the proper use of a single comma, the comma and independent clauses, the comma and interjections, the comma and long phrases and conventional uses of the comma

Lesson 4: The Continuation of Punctuation

  • This lesson discusses the semicolon, the colon, the dash, the parentheses and the brackets, and external punctuation marks.

Lesson 5: Creative Writing Part I

  • This lesson is the first of a three part series to write creatively.  It discusses capitalization, writing an outline, defining your characters, writing your plot and the fundamental of writing.

Lesson 6: Writing Your Story

  • This lesson discusses how to write the beginning, middle and ending of your story

Lesson 7: Fine Tuning Your Story

  • This lesson makes sure your writing is on target.  It works with your strengths and weaknesses.

  • This lesson takes a constructive look at your writing.  It is designed to sharpen your writing skills

Lesson 9:How to Edit Your Work

  • This lesson teaches you how to use what you have learned in previous lessons. You are able now to writer correctly and edit as well.

Lesson 10: How to Publish Your Work

  • This lesson teaches you how to writer query letters, synopses, chapter-by-chapter outline for traditional publishers as well as how to self-publish your own work.
