THE SIMPSON PAGE

There is a very strong possibility that Charity Simpson's parents, William and Sarah Simpson, were the same as William Simpson and Sarah Brown mentioned in Littell's book "First Settlers of the Passaic Valley".

The William in the book lived in the Springfield/New Providence area and went "out west", as did his brother John. He had an aunt who married a man named Sam Waldron. He had a brother named Israel.

Charity Simpson was married to Jonathan Sopher in New Providence, NJ, before moving to Mercer Co, PA with her parents. Her father showed up in Mercer Co along with a John Simpson. William/Sarah and Charity/Jonathan are buried in the Waldron Cemetery, which was part of Sam Waldron's farm.

The problem is that the William in the book had children named Jane, John and Pamela. Charity's father William's oldest children were Charity, Israel, John and Permila.

Seeking stronger proof that the two Williams are the same.
