Episode 57

Sakura, Shaoran and the Elevator

Shaoran's house, Shaoran's room. He just gets back from school. When he puts his bag on the table, he also sees the teddybear he made. He remembered Yukito asking who he wants to give the teddybear to. Shaoran shakes his head. He practises with his sword. After some times, he stops and an image of Sakura appears in his head. He really gets mad with this and asks himself why Sakura's image appeared. He stops practising and remembers Yue's words to calm down and look inside his heart to know who he really thinks of.

At school, Sakura says hello to her friends and Rika approaches her. She hands out a piece f paper telling about a Teddybear Fair. Unfortunately, Rika, Chiharu and Naoko can't go, so Sakura asks if Tomoyo will go with her. Eriol comes and asks if he can come too. Shaoran arrives at the class and, seeing Sakura talking cheerfully with Eriol, gets steamed-up and angrily, he walks inside. Tomoyo realizes this and laughs silently "o ho ho ho ho ho ho". Shaoran mumbles a bit, indirectly asking Sakura and Eriol to stop talking. Sakura gives the paper and asks if Shaoran wants to come too. He gets really panicked when Sakura's face is very near to his. And he says yes.

The story goes on with Shaoran always looks at Sakura : she is talking to Tomoyo ; during their PE class, Sakura cheers him and he blushes ; Sakura finds dificulty doing her mathematic in front of the class. Finally, Shaoran rests at the side of the school's pond. When he hears Sakura's voice saying how she can hardly wait for tomorrow, Shaoran immediately hides. Eriol comes and says "Sakura-san is cute, isn't she ?" Shaoran answers he wasn't really looking at her and he runs away going home. Eriol smiles and says what an honest person Shaoran is. Shaoran keeps running and asks himself why why why, until he bumps into Yukito. The two of them walk home together. After some times, Yukito tells Shaoran that Sakura invites him to dinner. Yukito wants to make cookie in return so he asks for Shaoran's help. When Shaoran sees cookie mold shaped like a teddybear, he takes it. Yukito sees this and comments that Sakura always likes teddybear. Shaoran says he did not intend to take it because he is thinking of Sakura. Yukito shows him a much bigger cookie molds and says maybe the shape are too big for Sakura. Shaoran replies Sakura wouldn't mind the size, as long as the cookies are given by Yukito, she will always accept everything Yukito gives her. Yukito is amazed and he says "You really like Sakura-chan a lot, right ?" Again Shaoran blushes and runs away leaving Yukito alone.

Shaoran has come back to his room. He takes out his cellphone and there are already two messages. First, is from Sakura asking whether he knows where and when they're going to meet, but something happened during the call, so the message is finished. Second message is also from Sakura apologizing for the disconnection because she fell over the game stick Kero put and saying they are going to meet at the school gate at 10 tomorrow. Shaoran turns off the phone and looks at the teddybear, he throws it up and he falls on his bed. Again he turns on his cellphone to listen to Sakura's voice.

Shaoran, Tomoyo and Eriol are waiting for Sakura. They go by train to the Teddybear Fair. Shaoran always looks at Sakura : looking at the teddybears, playing with a giant teddybear, wearing a teddybear's hat, wearing a teddybear's costume, etc etc. Finally, the four rest and have drinks. Eriol accidentaly mentions about the teddybear Shaoran made and Sakura quickly asks whether he has given the teddybear to someone. Shaoran just won't answer and, instead, he says it is time to go home, and he goes away. Sakura runs after him, Tomoyo and Eriol follow suit. Shaoran push the "down" button of the elevator. Sakura catches up with him. When the elevator's doors open, the 2 get inside and wait for Tomoyo and Eriol. But while walking, Eriol does his magic. He makes the elevator works uncontrollably and it traps Sakura and Shaoran inside. Eriol says he is going to find some help.

Inside the elevator, Sakura tries her cellphone while Shaoran tries the elevator's phone, but both don't work. After a long while, Sakura begins to cry. Realizing this, Shaoran uses his incantation paper and conjures fire to lit the dark space. Shaoran calms her down saying someone will help them so don't cry. Sakura stops crying and takes out her handkerchief. She invites Shaoran to sit next to her. Sakura gives a cookie shaped of teddybear and tells Shaoran that Yukito came to dinner last night and brought a very large bundle of cookies, but when she went for a minute, Kero had eaten all of them. So this one cokkie is the only one left. Sakura offers the cookie to Shaoran but he says the cookie is given to Sakura, so she should be the one to eat it. Still, Sakura breaks it into two and gives the other half to Shaoran.

Outside the elevator, Eriol works his magic. It causes the elevator to work again, making Sakura think they are finally able to get out, but the elevator bumps over something and, due to the crashing, Sakura walks backward to stop herself from falling. Shaoran comes to catch her. Somehow, a blank space appears behind Sakura and, although Shaoran tries to get her hand, he fails and Sakura falls to the bottom. Shaoran is stunned at the the side of the blank space, as if he wants to cry, he screams "Sakuraaaaa !!!!". For the first time, Shaoran calls Sakura's name. Pink soft lights come from the bottom, Sakura floats in front of Shaoran. She has used the Float Card. Shaoran hugs her, feeling all relieved. Eriol sees all this in his mind and he turns everything back to normal. The elevator works again and Tomoyo comes. Shaoran quickly lets go his hug. They are all glad everyone's safe.

Back to Shaoran's house. the cellphone rings and Shaoran takes it. Sakura' voice comes from it. Sakura tells him "Back then, at the elevator, when you called "Sakura", I felt very happy. It makes me feel we can be closer friend. Do you mind if I call you "Shaoran-kun" from now on ?" Shaoran says "Do whatever you wish." Sakura replies "Yes, Shaoran-kun. See you tomorrow, then." He hangs up the phone, and opens the window, enjoying the cool autumn breeze for the first time.
