eilin is a cousin of Shaoran. She also declares in front of the class that she is Shaoran's fiancee. At first she doesn't like Sakura and thinks of her as a rival for Shaoran in collecting the Clow Cards. But as the story goes on, she starts to make friend with Sakura although reluctantly.

Meilin is not an original character in the manga. She only appears in Anime to make things more interesting or, perhaps, complicating. Somehow her character is annoying, and she has high confidence. But actually she is a very good girl and she does everything she can to get Shaoran's attention.
