This section of my haven is about how I became who I am.
To begin with - my immediate family including all my ancestors were and still are lifelong residents of Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia.
My mother-maiden name Wolf, and her 8 siblings were raised in Philadelphia Pa. and
Ocean City, New Jersey.
When I was just finishing 5th grade, my parents purchased a huge ancient mansion with 6 acres of rich farmland, chicken coops and outbuildings. It was located on the main street of a very small country town.
We had one general store, church. My teacher Mrs. Canuso taught 6,7 & 8th grades in her one room school house.
On moving day, several neighbors peeked in our back door with covered dishes and offers to help.
Understandably my parents wanted the best for thier small family and believed country living would be healthy.
But, before we moved, my mother told me that if we should stay in town (Ocean City) that I could take the dancing lessons that I craved so badly. If we moved to he country, then I would be taking piano lessons.
Well, we moved, which meant the end of any dancing lessons and the beginning of a short lived career playing piano and organ.
A few years later, not quite liking some of the personal effects country life had on his oldest daughter... ahem, guess who?, my father made the decision to move his family back into Ocean City. He felt living in the country was turning me wild or so he said, truth was he didn't like my soul mate, best friend and true love (more on that later).
The moment I saw my new home, I loved everything about it.
