Do you know how to lock a folder?...just follow these steps....
- Go to msdos prompt
- Type mkdir <file name>Eg, c:> mkdir
testfile
- hold down the alt key
- And type 255 (you may experiment with other key combinations as well)
- Release the alt key and press enter.
- That's it now the new folder which you just created cannot be
accessed through widows or dos by typing its visible file name (come back to
windows and try to open it, it wont) not only that...the folder cannot be
deleted, copied or moved!
- Use the rename command to open it again...You will have to use the 255
code again just like the way you used it while creating the folder.
Use this method to protect your important data. Experiment and find out your
own key combinations so that it acts as a password. Cool!!
