Willie the cat! (my cat-no picture sorry)

If you have come you have chosen to hear my tale of my cat Willie. Willie is no ordinary cat (every cat owner says that about their cat).

I got Willie in January 2003 at the North Shore Animal League America adoption agency. We were having a bit of a mouse problem, so after about 5 months of begging we finally decided to get a kitten. But, lo and behold! NSALA ran out of kittens so we had to get a cat. Let the games begin.

When we got there we went to the cat room. It was full of people and adorable cats waiting to get adopted. My mother and I saw a lovely Japanese cat, but the tag said it didn't like kids (namely, my little brother)so we had to keep looking.

Then we ran into Diesel, an adorable, friendly orange cat. I loved him as soon as I saw him. I decided to pet him, but alas! He started shedding orange hair everywhere. My mother didn't like it because my grandmother hates animal hair. So we went on again.

That was when I hit THE CAGE. There were two twin cats, Kisses and Willie! Everyone was petting Kisses. I saw Willie and said "Aw, how cute!" The lady took him out of the cage for me to hold him. He started rubbing his head on my face and sniffing me as if saying "PLEASE ADOPT ME!!" My mom held him too and loved him. But then she got a call saying she had to leave. But I wasn't leaving without a cat. I'd heard tales of cats not being there the next day, so I had to keep asking my mom if we could have one. She said "No". I said "Please? Let's take Willie!"

And that's how it happened. We filled out all the work and got him into the box and started driving back home. I carried him up and down the steps and he would come to the door and rub his head on my legs everyday after I came home from school.

Of course, Willie was skinnier back then. Now, he is FAT. If I carry him even a quarter inch off the floor, he starts meowing in protest. His stomach almost touches the ground. But he's still sweet! And now we have two more kittens!!
