Assigned: November 2, 2001
Due: November 30, 2001
Dear Families,
We are assigning a writing project
where we ask students to think of reasons to be thankful. Students
should complete the organizer on the back of the paper before they begin
writing. While the assignment asks for one complete paragraph, students
may write more. Writing assignments are due on November 30.
Please contact your child's homeroom teacher if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Team IV Teachers

Thanksgiving Day will be here soon.
In November, we
think about all of the reasons that we are thankful.
It is always
nice to share what we are thankful for with those that
are
special to us. Think about three specific reasons
to be thankful.
What are they?
Before you begin writing, think about
why you are
thankful for these three things. Then write one
paragraph that
includes a topic sentence, three reasons to be thankful
with
supporting details, and a concluding sentence.
Since adults will be reading this,
be sure to check for
capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and usage.
Also, make
sure to Develop your reasons, Organize your ideas, attend
to
your Audience, and use a variety of Language.
