| Evil Dead meets Bill & Ted. Dawn Of The Dead meets Mallrats. Shirts that defy explanation. All this and more await for the unexpecting viewer of Biozombie. Because believe me, no matter how hard I could possibly try to prepare you for what is in store, you'll have to see it to believe it. And heard, because the dubbed version is vastly superior to the subtitled version. The voice acting is just one of the unique qualities that sets this movie apart from all others. Let's make an attempt to offer you, dear reader, a synopsis of this hilarious, fast-paced horror comedy, shall we? The film's main characters are Woody Invincible and Crazy Bee. Best friends, slackers, losers, pranksters, and all-around underachievers who "work" at a VCD store in their local mall. (VCD, for those of you who aren't aware, is a video format much like DVD, except the quality is not nearly as good.) Insanity ensues when they accidentally run down (With their bosses' car, no less) a covert operative guy who was forced to consume a soft drink laced with nasty bio-chemicals. They toss him in the trunk and go back to the mall, then conveniently forget about him altogether. When they manage to remember, after several glasses of saki, and enough sushi to choke a cow, the guy has turned into a biochemically transformed, bloodthirsty ZOMBIE! The affliction spreads like wildfire through the mall, infecting the employees and security until all that's left is Woody, Bee, the cell phone store manager and his wife, and the girls that Woody and Bee have been trying like devils to pick up all night. They end up spending the rest of the night trapped in the mall, fighting off zombies while trying not to become zombies themselves. The result is a fun, hilarious roller coaster ride of gore, goofiness, and great cinematography reminiscent of Evil Dead. YOU WILL LOVE IT. Or else. The end. -review by Spike Jonez and Michelle The Webmistress. |
